Tract Number 7
Beers. liquors, and wines are deadly enemies of our day.
Many have fallen into its ugly arms to be ruined and brought down to an
early grave or even down to poverty.
Homes have been
wrecked, lives have been ruined, and children have been made orphans because of
this unruly evil. Many have tried
to control it but in the end it has controlled them.
The Devil tells
the teenager that drinking is cool.
He tells the adult that social drinking is okay.
But God has much to say on this subject.
Let the Word of God have the final voice. Wine is a mocker,
strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
(Proverbs 20:1) Hear thou, my
son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.
Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness
shall clothe a man with rags. (Proverbs 23:19-21) Who hath woe? who
hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without
cause? who hath redness of eyes?
They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in
the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter
perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be
as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top
of a mast. They have stricken me,
shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when
shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.
(Proverbs 23:29-35)
Under the influence of alcohol, a person is just a tool of the Devil to
do what he bids him to do. This
bondage can be broken only by the Power of God. For whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(Romans 10:13) If the Son
therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
(John 8:36)
The sin problem
of drink must be turned over to the Lord if there is to be complete victory from
it. If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9
Just bow your
head and your heart right now before God and tell Him you have sinned, and you
are sorry for your sins. Ask Him to
come into your heart and forgive you.
He said He would. Jesus
Christ is waiting with outstretched arms for you to come unto Him.
Not only has
alcohol ruined lives but it has taken lives.
Many have been killed on the highways and by other alcohol related
murders. Each one who puts a bottle
to his or her lips or aids in putting the bottle in the lips of others will have
to stand before a Holy God and give an account of it. Nor thieves, nor
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the
kingdom of God. (1
Corinthians 6:10)
Only JESUS
CHRIST can deliver you from this sin problem of drink.
Only JESUS can give you the peace you are looking for in the bottle.
JESUS can not only deliver you from the bondage but can and will keep you
delivered. My heart breaks when I
see the children, the wives, and the husbands who are tormented by strong drink. |
