Tract Number 9
Multitudes of children are abused and mis-used across our land.
You can’t listen to a news telecast without hearing something about the
abuse of children. How sad it is to
hear stories of men and women who are supposed to be mothers and dads, abusing
their own children. A woman is
stooping very low when she can give birth to a child and abandon it in a trash
bin to die. Yet, we read and hear
of this all the time. A man has a
real spiritual problem when he can abuse and even kill his own flesh and blood.
CHILD ABUSE
is found in all classes of people, all races, and sad to say, in all
religions. CHILD ABUSE is
even found among clergy and among the most influential people.
CHILD ABUSE IS SIN. Psalms 127:3, "Lo,
children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."
For men and
women to bring children into this world and then mistreat them is a sin God will
not deal with lightly or turn His head from.
Galatians 6:7, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever
a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
Many use the
excuse that they did not mean to abuse their children, but it just happened.
Many who have abused their children have been under the influence of
alcohol or drugs. Others, out of
anger and rage, have abused their children.
Regardless, whatever reason, the Lord is the only one who can deliver the
CHILD ABUSER from his sin.
The best way to
prevent this abuse is to have a Christian home. Matthew 19:13-14,
"Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands
on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto
me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:2-6,
"And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as
little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same
is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it
were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he
were drowned in the depth of the sea."
It is sickening to hear of mothers, dads,
grandmothers, grandfathers, and other relatives abusing their own flesh and
blood. The Lord said this would
happen in the last days. 2 Timothy 3:3, "Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good,"
The Bible also
teaches that the older women are to teach the younger women to love their
children. Titus 2:4, "That
they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love
their children,"
Dear God, grant us some good Godly mothers and
dads for our precious children in our land. |
