Tract Number 12

 GAMBLING is an age old problem.  Get rich schemes are hatched out every day.  The Devil plays tricks with the minds of men to tell them there is an easy way to get fortune and fame.  GAMBLING is another tool of Satan to lure men into his trap.  Look what God says about the Devil and those who follow him.

 John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

      GAMBLING IS SIN.  Men gamble their money and their possessions away.  Children have had to do without because mothers and dads are controlled by the bondage of GAMBLING.  God has not left us to chance.

 Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

      God has promised his children in the Word of God that He will supply their needs.

      There are many who do not know the Lord as their Saviour, and they are reaching out for false hopes.  Many have wasted their substance on GAMBLING, and at the end have ended their life in suicide.

      The Devil uses the lottery, betting on races and ball games, chance tickets, card games, and various other things to lure men into GAMBLING.  Many church groups even bet on bingo.  GAMBLING ruins lives.  Cities and nations will not prosper by the unholy means of GAMBLING.

      To live a life of chance or by luck is not the order of the Bible.

 Hebrews 10:38, "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him."

 Romans 14:23, "And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

      GAMBLING can control the heart of those who do not trust the Lord to provide for them.  It can and will get such a strong hold upon them that they cannot break its strong arms from them.  It will take the Almighty Arms of the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, to release this evil from their heart.  Just like the alcoholic, the GAMBLER, lives from one pay day to the next to spend his pay on GAMBLING.

     For men to gamble their living and possessions away is bad enough but to gamble ones soul away is even worse.  Multitudes  are doing just that.  To put off being saved is gambling your soul against eternity in Hell.

Matthew 16:26, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

      Only the BLOOD of Jesus Christ can cleanse from this sin. The soldiers cast lots for the Saviour’s robe not realizing that while they were GAMBLING, Jesus was dying for them.  Many are gambling not realizing that Jesus has died for them.
