THE HEART OF MAN WITHOUT GOD

 1.  EVIL CONTINUALLY.  Genesis 6:5, "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

 2.  DECEITFUL AND WICKED.  Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

 3. REBELLIOUS.  Jeremiah 5:23, "But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone."

 4. THE SEAT OF SINFULNESS.

 Matthew 15:19, "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:"

 5. NATURALLY FAR FROM GOD.

 Matthew 15:8, "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me."

THE HEART OF MAN WHO IS BORN AGAIN

 1. A NEW HEART.  Ezekiel 36:26, "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."

 2. A CLEANSED HEART. Titus 3:5, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;"

 3. A CHANGED HEART.  2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

 4. A BELIEVING HEART.  Romans 10:10, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

 5. A HAPPY HEART.  Ephesians 5:19, "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"

WHAT THE HEART OF MAN NEEDS

 1. EVERY HEART MUST BE PREPARED.  Isaiah 1:18, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

 2.  EVERY HEART MUST BE BORN AGAIN.  John 3:3, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

 3.  EVERY HEART MUST BELIEVE.  Acts 16:31, "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

 4.  EVERY HEART MUST CONFESS. 

1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
