FOR BY GRACE ARE YOU SAVED

Tract Number 63

GRACE means unearned, unmerited favor.  Grace is receiving something that we do not deserve.  Grace is the giving of a gift regardless of whether we have been good or bad.

SALVATION IS BY THE GRACE OF GOD.

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Titus 2:11, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,"

Since we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, we do not deserve the forgiveness of our sins nor a place in heaven with the Lord.  God hath showed His Grace to us through His only Begotten Son dying on the Cross of Calvary.

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

If we expect to stand before God in the judgment with only our good works to get us in, we will be sadly mistaken.  Our salvation is through and by the Lord Jesus Christ.  God will not look to see how good we were in the judgment.  He will look to see if the BLOOD of Jesus Christ has been applied to our hearts.  If we have not repented and confessed our sins, then we will stand before God guilty and He will say, “Depart from me into everlasting punishment.”

Matthew 7:23-24, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:"

The only works that will get us into Heaven are the works of Jesus Christ on Calvary for our sin.

 GRACE ONLY COMES FROM GOD:

John 1:17, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

There is only one way to obtain the Grace of God.  The Word of God tells us how:

Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Luke 13:3, "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

The Lord will never save you until you call upon His name and repent of your sin.  Remember, Today is the day of salvation.  Please bow your head and confess your sin to the Lord right now to ensure that you will have a place in Heaven when you leave this world.
